Download Convert9918 for Windows (1.1 mb)

This program uses a set of algorithms I've been working on for a while to convert images into the TMS9918A Graphics II (bitmap) mode. It supports both direct and perceptual color matching. The images are pretty decent and now it's just a matter of refinement. :)

So far as I know, the 9918A is used in the MSX, ColecoVision, Tomy Tutor and TI99/4A. I wrote this utility to output TI-99/4A compatible TI Artist+ files, but they are just a raw dump with a 128 byte TI header on the front. It can also output V9T9 style files, and raw image/pattern files with no header.

This program can now also output TI-99/4A Extended BASIC programs to display the image, RLE compressed or not.
