This player is a library for playing chiptunes in KonTechs' EPSGMOD format, as created by Mod2PSG2 at http://mod2psg2.kontechs.com/. Originally created for the Sega Game Gear and Master System, these same tunes will now play on the TI-99/4A! Includes a sample application with a few tunes, documentation, and full source for the library and sample application. This code is free for use in any production, commercial or not (although I would appreciate a credit, and KonTechs deserves one too!)

    Notes

  • The TI sound chip has a more primitive noise channel than the Master System, so drum beats and other noise channel effects will sound slightly different
  • The demo application occasionally has a few small glitches - not sure if they are in the player or the data files.
  • Running the demo app - the screen will blank if no keys are pressed (this may happen in your app too). This is the normal TI interrupt handler blanking the screen. You can prevent it by writing a positive value to >83D6 - this is incremented by 2 every interrupt and clears the screen when it wraps to 0. (Possibly setting it to an odd number will work forever, but I never tried that).
